My apologies – I have been too busy to post. This is partly because I can only get free wifi in the hotel lobby. I will catch up with all the events of the last few days as soon as I can. For now, here is a picture of the Church of the Spilled Blood, or the Resurrection Church of Our Saviour. Construction began in 1883 on the site where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated two years earlier. It is built in the Russian Revival style and is actually very unusual for St Petersburg, which is very European in architectural style.
