Last weekend our friends Michelle and Margaret stayed with us on the Liverpool leg of their trip around the UK and Europe. I accompanied them on some of their Liverpool sightseeing. On Sunday morning we took a ferry across the River Mersey, made famous by the Gerry and the Pacemakers song.

Here’s Michelle and Margaret on the ferry as it was docked at Pier Head, right in front of the Liver Building (rhymes with ‘diver’ not ‘river’).

The morning sun created a dramatic skyline.

The Liverpool waterfront.

It was first time I’ve taken the ferry and it’s certainly a good way to see Liverpool, as the city is designed to be seen from the water, given its years as the UK’s most vital port.
