Today Mum and I drove to Llandudno in Wales. Llandudno is about an hour and a half from Liverpool, and is known as the the “Queen of Welsh Resorts”. To get there we had to drive through gorgeously green Welsh countryside
Glorious Welsh summer sky.
Llandudno lies between two peninsulas – Little Orme (above)…
… and Great Orme. Here’s Mum on the beach.
That’s the end of the Great Orme and the pier on the horizon.
We had a nice lunch and then headed up the Great Orme to have a walk along the pier.
The pier was built in 1878 and is a Grade II listed building.
There were all sorts of amusements along the pier.
Nice lawn sculpture.
A view of the mountains of Snowdownia.
Afterwards we drove to Conwy Castle – built between 1283 and 1289 by Edward I.
It was getting late, so we decided not to go in – we’ll have to make Conwy Castle a full day out next time.
