It was a year ago today that Mark and I had our Civil Partnership Ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London – Happy Anniversary to us!

We have a good day and have walked for miles.

We started by heading up to Little Venice and Regents Canal. I love canal barges and the whole canal-thing fascinates me. We stopped in a tea house for a cup of tea and sat by the fire.

See how the water looks slick – it’s about to freeze and the swans were cracking the ice up as they swam around.

We then headed back out and walked to Notting Hill and went to flea market at Portobello Road.

This was followed by a pint and lunch at a pub called The Sun In Splendour. I had sausages and mash. We walked back to the hotel past Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park to Lancaster Gate.

I promised you some shots of our current hotel – it’s not too bad but it’s about “two stars” less than the Athenaeum. We have a little apartment here with its own kitchen.

It also has a lounge room.

This is the carpet in the bedrooms. Divine.

We have stayed here many times and we like it because it’s so handy for Paddington Station, which is where the Heathrow Express comes in. It’s also extremely clean. They have a very simple but substantial buffet breakfast as well. Mark’s favourite thing is the fact that it has a washing machine. It’s also placed equally between three different tube lines.
